The Caterpillar That Became Very Still

The whole story

1. Early one morning, a small green caterpillar climbed a tall garden leaf.

2. The small green caterpillar wanted to taste every leaf and flower.

3. A yellow butterfly rested nearby, but the caterpillar could not follow.

4. By afternoon, the small green caterpillar stopped eating and held still.

5. The small green caterpillar rested inside a chrysalis while its body changed.

6. Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar became very still and quietly changed.

7. When the garden warmed, a new butterfly came out and held on.

8. The butterfly rested on a purple flower, ready for the bright garden.
