Too Many Toys on the Floor

A child cannot find one favourite toy among a hundred, and discovers that tidying is really finding.

The whole story

1. On Saturday morning, Mina built a tower beside her hundred scattered toys.

2. Mina reached for Blue Whale, her favorite toy, but Blue Whale was gone.

3. She searched under a doll blanket, beside blocks, and behind a wooden train.

4. Mina lifted a box, and three cars rolled into her slippers.

5. Mina made three small piles, but many toys still covered the floor.

6. Mina placed stuffed animals in a basket, blocks in a bin, and cars on a shelf.

7. Mina saw a clear patch beneath the table and knelt beside it.

8. Under the blanket, Mina found Blue Whale waiting in the clear space.

9. Mina held Blue Whale close, then looked across the tidy floor.

10. Mina discovered that tidying the floor was how she found her favorite toy.
