A Bath for the Muddiest Piglet

A piglet runs from the bath through the whole farm, and ends up cleaned by a rainstorm anyway.

The whole story

1. On a warm afternoon, Pip rolled through soft farmyard mud with a snort.

2. Farmer Mae carried a wash tub and called, “Bath time, Pip!”

3. Pip spotted the warm water, tucked his tail, and backed toward the gate.

4. When Farmer Mae reached for him, Pip squeezed under the open gate.

5. Pip raced past the chicken coop, leaving brown dots on every feather.

6. He dashed beside the red barn and splashed mud across the milk pail.

7. Pip paused beneath the apple trees beside the vegetable patch.

8. Fat raindrops tapped Pip’s back beneath the apple trees, and mud slid from his boots.

9. Rain poured over Pip until his pink skin shone clean beneath his neckerchief.

10. Pip ran from the bath through the whole farm, and a rainstorm cleaned him anyway.
