The Girl Who Collected Sounds

A child gathers her favourite noises in an imaginary jar and plays them back at bedtime.

The whole story

1. At sunrise, Mira stepped into the garden with an empty imaginary jar.

2. Mira tucked the spoon's bright clink into her imaginary jar beside her warm breakfast bowl.

3. At the garden gate, she gathered its soft creak and saved it beside the clink.

4. By noon, the rain drummed hard, but every drop slipped past her imaginary jar.

5. Mira sat beneath the porch until one small drop tapped her yellow boot.

6. She caught that tap inside her imaginary jar and listened for a hidden sound.

7. At dusk, leaves rustled, and Mira tucked their whisper inside her imaginary jar.

8. Then Mira hummed softly, and the jar made room for her favourite sound.

9. At bedtime, Mira carried the jar to her moonlit room and placed it by her pillow.

10. She opened the imaginary jar and played back her favourite noises.
