Three Buttons and a Missing Coat

Three buttons set off to find the coat they fell from, and are sewn back on by a patient grandmother.

The whole story

1. At dawn, three buttons rolled beneath the hallway bench, searching for their missing coat.

2. Beside the door, the buttons found one long green thread and followed it outside.

3. The garden wind tucked the thread beneath a flowerpot, and the buttons waited nearby.

4. Rain washed the thread toward the garden gate, where the buttons gathered on a stone.

5. By afternoon, the thread caught on a wooden fence beside the green wool coat.

6. The buttons tugged together, but the coat stayed beyond the fence.

7. A grandmother lifted the coat and placed it beside her sewing basket indoors.

8. Three buttons found the coat they fell from, and a patient grandmother sewed them back on.
