1. At sunrise, Lila filled her clay pot at the village well. She carried it home on a wooden yoke.
2. But the pot had a crack. Water dripped from it, drop by drop, all the way home.
3. At home, the pot was nearly empty. Lila sighed and set it beside the wall.
4. Lila took the pot to the old potter. He pressed clay along the crack, but the line opened again.
5. “You are not a good water pot,” Lila whispered. “I need every drop.”
6. The next morning, Lila filled the pot again. It leaked beside the road, and tiny green shoots appeared behind her.
7. Each day, the shoots grew taller. Lila began to wonder where they got their water.
8. One morning, Lila saw flowers along the whole road. Every drop from the cracked pot had helped them grow.
9. The cracked pot was not useless after all. It had watered a beautiful road.
10. Lila carried the pot home with care. Its crack still leaked, and the road still bloomed.
