2. At the bridge, Mira saw Tomas drop a loaf in the dust. She shook her front bag and said, "Some people are careless."
3. Farther on, Lio built a cart with a crooked wheel. Mira tapped her front bag. "Some people rush their work," she said.
4. By noon, Mira's front bag had grown heavy with other people's mistakes. The villagers began to watch her quietly.
5. Mira tried to lift the front bag, but it would not budge. She had noticed every stone except its weight.
6. Elder Sela asked, "What is in the bag behind you?" Mira turned, but she could not see it.
7. Elder Sela opened it for her. Inside were Mira's own mistakes, tucked safely out of sight.
8. Mira remembered her own careless words, rushed steps, and missed chances to help. Her back felt very straight, but her heart bent low.
9. Mira moved one stone from the front bag to the back. Then she helped Tomas, Lio, and Anya.
10. After that, Mira still noticed mistakes. But she checked her back before pointing at anyone else's.
11. Other people's faults stayed in front, where they were easy to see. Our own stayed behind, where we had to turn around.
