The Snowshoe Hare That Vanished Twice a Year

The whole story

1. At sunrise, a snowshoe hare nibbled grass beside the forest path. Its brown fur matched the leaves and twigs.

2. A red fox padded along the path. The hare pressed low, and the fox searched right past it.

3. Then the air turned cold. Snowflakes dusted the hare's whiskers, and winter began to cover the forest.
