The Snowy Field That Remembered Every Footstep

A snowy field holds the day's tracks until night gently covers them, showing that busy days can become quiet again.

The whole story

1. At dawn, Mira stepped into the snowy field with her small silver bell. She wanted to know if the field remembered every footstep.

2. Mira pressed one boot down, then lifted it. The snow kept the shape, right down to the little star on her sole.

3. A small fox placed a paw beside Mira's print. Its toes made four tiny marks. Mira followed the fox's trail across the field.

4. By afternoon, the field was busy with tracks. Mira could not tell which path was hers, and even her bell seemed to have lost its place.

5. At sunset, Mira found her first print beside the tallest grass. The field had kept every path, even when the paths crossed.

6. Then night came softly. Snow began to cover the prints, one by one, while Mira and the fox listened to the quiet.

7. The snowy field had held the day's tracks until night gently covered them. The busy day became quiet again.
