The Stuffed Rabbit Who Guarded the Wrong Dream

A stuffed rabbit tries to protect a child from every dream, then learns some dreams only need a brave companion.

The whole story

1. At bedtime, Mina tucked Clover beneath her pillow. Tonight, she wanted to dream about flying.

2. Clover took guarding seriously. When a silver cloud opened, he sat up straight and watched it carefully.

3. Mina woke before her feet left the cloud. “Oh, Clover,” she whispered. “That was my dream.”

4. The next night, Mina dreamed of a giant blue whale. Clover blocked the dream before the whale could sing.

5. By the third night, Mina hugged Clover tightly. “You guard every dream,” she said. “I want one that surprises me.”

6. That night, a blue forest opened. Clover reached to close it, but Mina took his paw. “Come on,” she said. “We can be brave together.”

7. The hill was not a monster. It was a sleeping song. Mina and Clover opened the little golden door.

8. Behind the door was Mina’s flying dream. Clover did not guard it. He held on, and together they soared.

9. In the morning, Mina found Clover on her chest and a smile on her face. Some dreams do not need guarding. They only need a brave companion.
