1. At star-bright noon, Cora Comet raced toward the planets. She wanted to hear every wish before bedtime.
2. The golden planet began, “Please, stay awhile.” But Cora was already far away. She heard only, “Please.”
3. The blue planet whispered, “I wish for a friend.” Cora caught just one word: “Friend!” Then the planet became a blue dot behind her.
4. A ringed planet offered tea and a quiet place to sit. Cora tried to stop, but her tail tugged her onward.
5. Cora passed a red planet, a silver moon, and many more bright worlds. Her list stayed empty. Even her bell sounded blurry.
6. At last, Cora reached the wide space between the bright places. She tucked her tail close and let the quiet hold her.
7. She heard her bell give one small chime. She saw silver dust, purple clouds, and stars hiding in the hush. The quiet was full after all.
8. After that, Cora still visited the planets. But she paused for their wishes, and she learned to enjoy the wide quiet between bright places.
