6. Lila put the knife on a shelf. “I will not cut you yet,” she said. “But a birthday needs guests.”
7. Lila carried the cake outside in the basket. Her friends were waiting, and the party could not wait forever.
8. Lila told everyone what had happened. Her friends did not grab the cake. They sat in a circle and waited.
9. Lila brought out seven plates. “No one will take all of you,” she promised. “We will make seven little celebrations.”
10. The cake stopped trembling. Lila made one careful cut, and then another. The cake did not roll away.
11. Soon, the tall cake became seven generous slices. Each slice brought a birthday cheer, a giggle, and a very pink smile.
12. At sunset, only one tiny piece was left. Lila shared it too, and the cake had become many happy moments.
