4. Mina listened at the pump. The rumble was louder there, and the water in the basin trembled in tiny circles.
5. Mina followed the stream uphill. Under the stones, the same gentle humming filled the water.
6. At the foot of the mountain, Mina placed her ear on a warm rock. The humming rose, dipped, and rose again.
